Hi team, would love to get your thoughts on my profile and my chances at the top schools!!
Work experience:
-Currently in a leadership role at an Indian startup, in the health & wellness space ; handle operations, product launches, investor relations, fundraising; 1.5 years (top b-school alumni run)
Previously worked:
-2 years at a VC; created a role within a portfolio, worked their for 6-8 months on EBITDA improvement plans; executed a deal in consumer as well (has alumni from top schools)
-2 years at MBB (feeder) ; worked mainly on private equity diligences and cases in he govt.
-1 year at Deloitte ; financial risk consulting
Extracurriculars:
-Assist an NGO in the soccer and education space; raised funds, developed curriculum, mentor students, tie up with CSRs
-Soccer coach at local govt schools
-Played soccer at a national level, still play semi-pro
-Tied up with donation camps to help migrating workers during COVID-19
-Mentor startups in the consumer space; students and alumni for career guidance
-Won global soccer tournaments while representing each firm and personally
-Captained university soccer team, coached and managed them as well
FYI, LORs are from top-schools alumni
Undergrad school/major: First class degree (4.0 equivalent GPA) in a tier - 2 Indian engineering school (non-IIT); School has few alumni that went to top B-schools
GMAT Score: 710 (49Q/38V), IR: 6, AWA: 6 ; don't plan on giving this again (got a 710 thrice!!)
Race/nationality: Indian
Sex: Male
Goal of MBA: Start a consumer focused fund; short term: work at Nike / Under Armour / other consumer retail giants
Target schools: R1: HBS, Wharton, Booth, INSEAD ; R2 (depending on R1): GSB, Kellogg
Questions:
-Chances at top schools (esp HBS)? given low-ish GMAT, ORM category
