Hi everyone!

I will apply for several Masters in Finance (entry in September 2021). I would like to work in London (IB - M&A, ECM, DCM)
I would say that my personal ranking is the following one :
Dream : LBS, LSE A&F, Bocconi
Competitive : Imperial, UCL, Warwick
Safe : Cass

Background:
1) Two-year intensive preparation to the highly competitive admission to the leading Business Schools. Ranked 2nd out of 70 students (fortes: Mathematics and Economy). Highest Honors. GPA : 4
2) Master in Management at a French Business School. (Ranked 6th best French business school) Major : Finance. Grade : 13/20 (GPA 3)
3) I will have an exchange semester in China starting in September but it may be cancelled

Work Experience :
Internship at a top insurance company (Client relationship)
Apprenticeship as Loan Sales (Front office) at a top French Bank during 2 years in Paris

Bloomberg Market Concepts certification
GMAT : 680
Extracurriculars : Audiovisual Association : Managed audiovisual projects involving 10 people (shooting, clip, editing)
Sports aficionado; played soccer for 14 years at a high level of competition until age 19 (Ile-de-France regional championship), Vice Champion of the national business school Championship in 2019

What do you think about my profile given the dream/competitive/safe schools I will apply for ?

Hi, If you are keen to work in London, then you look for London or UK based universities such as LBS, LSE, Imperial, UCL, Cass.

Hi ! I agree with you, but Cass is not prestigious enough to get a job in a top investment bank in London (employment report 2018 of Cass). So, I prefer Bocconi rather than Cass

What do you think about my chance to get an offer from the mentioned schools given my profile ?

Hi,

You have a good chance of getting selected to a Masters of Finance degree of your choice. You have a strong profile. The important thing to consider is why a masters of Finance and not an MBA. We have written a blog covering exactly this point.

In our experience of more than 30 years and having mentored more than 1,000 students, it is important to realise that the justification of doing a Masters in Finance is a desire to learn deep and only when you know that's the career path for you. An MBA provides a great opportunity (learning and career) of diversifying yourself, personally and professionally. However, given your background a Masters in Finance is an appropriate choice. Also, if you want to work in London in PE/IB, study as close to London as you can particularly higher ranked colleges focussing on Finance.

I will graduate in August 2021 so I apply for September 2021 Intake.
Thank you for your advice. Given my profile, what GMAT score do I need to have a good chance getting selected in LSE and Imperial (top UK schools) ?
