Hey Zack,
Thanks for sharing your background and goals with us! Based on the details you provided, I'd say you have a very attractive profile for virtually all the schools on your list. Your academic credentials (including GMAT) are strong, your status as a former D1 athlete implies that you have leadership and teamwork skills, and you'll be in the sweet spot with your years of work experience by the time you apply.
My biggest question for you would be why you're interested in switching into general marketing post-MBA, and also what "general marketing" means to you -- does it mean marketing for the energy sector? Consumer packaged goods? Retail marketing? For someone like you who wants to be a career-switcher, AdComs will also scrutinize the logic behind your goals. What have you learned in your pre-MBA experience that you can carry with you into general marketing, and how might those skills actually make you a BETTER marketer than someone who's been doing it their whole career? If you're drawn to marketing, why haven't you landed in a marketing position prior to b-school? How do you know that that's the field for you? All these are questions that you'll want to devote time to thinking through and then crafting into compelling essays.
As for winnowing down your school list, that will largely hinge on any recruiting preferences that you have (specific employers as well as geographies), any particular academic programs or course offerings that are relevant to your field of interest, and other personal factors that are easiest to tease out in a one-on-one conversation. Based on statistics alone, I don't see any obvious schools to strike from your list at first glance. Please feel free to reach out to us at

Best,
