Hello,

I am Samriddhi from India. Request your team to help evaluate my profile and understand which universities would be safe for me to apply to based on the same. Following is my details:

· Demographics (nationality, gender): Indian, Female

· Education: KIIT University, 7.9 CGPA, major - Computer Science Engineering, Batch of 2016

· GMAT: 690 Q48 V37

· Work experience (briefly highlight amount of work experience, industries, roles, promotions, special accomplishments, international exposure): 5 Years work experience in Enterpreneurship & Marketing. Started as a Marketing Associate at Radix(Handled international accounts), founded an import company for a Mongolian skincare brand, becoming there exclusive importer & distributor in India. Ran the start up for 3 years but it couldn't survive covid. Worked with a boot strapped pet care company, heading their marketing for a year after that. Currently work at IPAC(a political consultancy), heading their digital content team for an upcoming assembly election.

· Extracurricular activities (briefly highlight notable undergraduate and post-undergraduate ones): Active in theatre, sports, social activism on women related issues. Worked with NGOs on women related violence.

· Post-MBA goals: Work with growth stage start-ups in their marketing vertical, aiming to become CMO in 6-8 years from finishing MBA. Eventual goal is to start my own business again with the right amount of experience, network & resources.

· Target schools: Need more clarity on this but so far, this is the list I'm looking at:
1. ISB
2. UCLA
3. University of Chicago - Booth
4. University of Michigan - Ross
5. University of Southern California - Marshall
6. Univ of Cambridge – Judge

· Extra info: My GMAT Score is from 2018, making this the last year I can use it. As of now, my work schedule will not allow me to take 1-2 months off an attempt another GMAT before Feb 2023 so this year, I'd like to give my best with my existing GMAT.

· Any specific questions you would like answered by our team: I currently need help in listing down schools that I can safely get in with my existing profile.

Hi samriddhipandey5 hope you are doing well

From a first perspective, you have an interesting profile, but you need to turn the right levers to present a strong growth pattern in your career along with relevant quantification of impact. Most of your work experience has either been as an entrepreneur or at a bootstrapped start-up. While both stints show your appetite for risk and willingness to hustle, anything less than a compelling progression story for every year that you spent in these roles may make your candidacy weak for your target schools, especially since you have held 4 jobs in 5 years.
You current role seems to be a promising one, I suggest you delve deeper into the specifics of why you were awarded this position to underline your expertise in this field and prove your leadership potential.

Your ECs look good on the surface. Post MBA goals look reasonable but may need some fine tuning.

Your GMAT is less than the average for your demographic at these schools. You should evaluate whether spending some effort on improving this score might be worth getting into a better ranked school with scholarship. From what we have here, US schools in the 20-40 range seem more probable. Optimistically speaking, you could go full throttle on the Judge application since you are at its median GMAT score and see what happens. If UK interests you as a post-MBA destination, I encourage you to consider other B schools in Europe that might be more forgiving of your GMAT score. Getting feedback first hand from the admissions office on your profile would help to set the right expectations. Take time to connect with 10-15 schools that you may be interested in and that should lay some solid groundwork for your applications journey.

You have a diverse profile and if reflected lucidly in the essays, it would make for a compelling case. However, given the less-than-average GMAT and the fact that you do not have the bandwidth to reapply, I would advise you to reconsider the schools you are targetting. Thanks for sharing your profile. Your profile looks good on the surface. Starting with the stats, your undergrad GPA is quite low. You will need to compensate for it with a solid GMAT score. I suggest retaking the GMAT and increasing your score by 20-30 points to increase your chances.

On the work front, your work experience seems amazing. 5 years of working experience filled with leadership, impact, and innovation. A progressive and impressive career attracts adcoms more. I note that you've managed many projects and worked in various roles (and startup), demonstrating your adaptability and success. You need to think through your work experience and highlight the key points that help you demonstrate your USPs. While doing so, ensure that you exhibit your leadership skills and the impact you have created for the organization's growth and development in your applications and bring a personality on paper.

Regarding your ECs, they are ok. You may speak about your work with an NGO. Post-MBA goals make sense. Overall, you have a good profile, however, your school list should be revised according to your profile and GMAT score. You can apply to Indiana Kelly, Mendoza, Owen, and Rice in the US if you are not interested in retaking the GMAT. Then there's IE, IESE, ESADE, IMD, Bocconi, and a few Canadian schools. We have assisted applicants with GMAT scores of 640, 650, 680 in getting into business schools. One of our applicants was accepted to IE with a 640 and a scholarship. He also came from an entrepreneurial background. I would suggest applying in R1 as it could definitely increase your chances of securing a spot.
