Hi,
I am planning to apply for MBA in the spring of 2023. Below is my profile:
Gender: Male
Age: 27 (29 by the start of the program)
Nationality: Armenia
Target Schools: Harvard and Wharton
Work Experience - ~62 months by the start of the program (~51 when applying):1. Consultant at MBB (40 months by the start of the program): - I am an expert consultant with a focus on Analytics/Data Science. Have significant international experience. My current location is the USA, but I also used to work in two other countries and did projects in 6 different ones. I lead various initiatives on the topics of financial risks and digital/analytics transformations.
2. Lead Data Scientist at a large CIS bank (11 months): - Led the development of various analytics/machine learning models, improving the credit risk and credit collections processes.
3. Data Scientist at a large German retail chain (11 months): - Developed multiple machine learning models and conducted analytics for CRM and Operations departments, and Online Store. Had a lot of leadership opportunities as well.
Education: 1. MSc in Analytics at a top-10 US college.
GPA: 3.6
2. Bachelor in Business/Economics at local Armenian University
GPA: 3.35 (3.8 in the last two years. I am going to address the reasons for a low GPA in my first two years of undergrad)
Extracurricular activities: Not a lot here. I think I have only the following activities: volunteering for my current firm's diversity initiatives, actively participating in my affinity group within the company, and a hobby I recently started.
Recommendation letters: Will probably get one of the letters from respective B-Schools alums from senior management of the company.
GMAT: Do not have an active score right now, but
the target is 730+.
I'd appreciate it if you could provide general feedback and also help me with the following 3 questions:
1. Given my profile, what is a good GMAT score for target schools?
2. Most of my extracurricular activities are within the company I work for. Does it even count?
3. In general, how important is having extensive and diverse extracurricular activities, given the rest of the profile is okay?
