1) Full-time work experience.
Operations position at top 15 bank (6 months)
Management position at a retail store (12 months)
Customer service, negotiating short sales. (12 months)
Total 30 months work exp as of now.
2) GMAT
700 Q49 V36
IR: 4 (38 percentile) – Only concern regarding gmat, but really not looking to retake.
3) College info:
Small state university. Major – Business Management. Cumulative GPA 3.53.
4) EC:
Black Belt program for Mixed Martial Arts
Amateur Bodybuilding
Looking to start volunteer work in a marketing firm or elsewhere
5) Target programs.
Potentially looking at:
UNC (Kenan-Flagler), UT-Austin, and Tepper
Not having strong extra-curriculars, my concern is getting into top 50 programs. Would love advice regarding this issue.
6) Application cycle:
Looking to apply to 4-5 in each cycle, R1 and R2. For matriculation in 2016.
7) Post-MBA goal.
Leaning towards Finance or management.
8)Personal:
Male; White; Age: 27
Looking to boost my extra curriculars and work experience in the next year. Again, really just unsure where I fit in as far as admissions and what schools to aim for. Would appreciate any advice.

Hello! Thanks for the very detailed rundown of your profile. Your GMAT score is good for the schools you're targeting, as a 700 should put you just above those schools' averages. I wouldn't worry about your IR score by the way...that section is just not very heavily weighted by schools.
Your extracurriculars may not be stellar but I don't think they are super weak either...keep in mind that when we talk about extracurriculars for business school, it doesn't need to be volunteer work. Rather, schools are looking for evidence of you being a multidimensional person, one who cares about making a difference in the lives of others, and who is passionate and driven to achieve goals. So this can come from very small things, like helping a family member run their business, or perhaps from athletics like those you mention.
What I find to be more concerning in your profile is that you're on the low end in terms of amount of full time experience and you seem a bit unclear on your post-MBA career goals too. When it comes time to write your essays, you're going to need to pick a path (Finance or management, for example), and you're going to need to be much more specific about what that path looks like (e.g., specific role, target companies/industries, etc.) and how that path connects to what you've done already. Since you've had some experience in a few different fields, really think about which skills you have now that are going to be transferable to that post-MBA goal.
So I guess my question is why do you believe now is the best time to get your MBA and have you considered waiting another year? This could help improve your chances in that you'd build up another year of work experience, have more clarity on your career goals, and stronger extracurriculars (which are hard to add at the "last minute"). I think you have enough strengths that if you want to give it a shot this year to see how you do, that would be just fine, but I just wanted to flag that timing concern to you.

Thank you for the detailed reply! It is very appreciated. Yes I understand and agree with my full time experience. I recently moved so I currently am unemployed at the moment, certainly not something that's helping me with my resume concerns. So I believe my next step is to possibly put out a few school applications in round 1 this fall and, in the mean time, job hunt. My main concern is what types of jobs are MBA-aspirant worthy, meaning I don't want to spend the next year at a position that wouldn't be moving me toward my goals. As for MBA goals, I am very interested in business math so that was why I am interested in Finance, but haven't held any Finance positions since my undergrad degree was not in finance (applied to many, but never passed the interview process due to no experience and no finance degree). I am unsure if that is an issue for b-schools. If I have a shot at a top 20 school, I am completely fine with holding off to bolster my resume. After my first couple GMAT attempts I wasn't sure if I'd get into that tier. Thank you again for the input and welcome and further information!
