Hi
red97,
Happy to help you consider schools. A simple format is using Stretch/Target/Likely categories – M7 schools are considered a stretch for almost everyone. Target schools are ones where your stats (GMAT/GRE, GPA) are right at the averages. A program is Likely if you are solidly above average across all metrics. With this method, you'll be able to select from top 20 programs, then dig deeper for a personal fit. Here's some guidance on finding fit -
How to Find the Best Business Schools for You.
I encourage you to find a way to demonstrate your academic aptitude beyond the GMAT. This, along with an optional essay that addresses your undergrad GPA, will help you overcome the lower GPA. UC Berkeley has a good course that will give you a transcript -
Math for ManagersAs you develop your school list, consider your own risk level and whether you definitely want to attend school next year or would only leave work for certain schools.
Beyond this advice, you look like you have solid professional experience and a good start on the short-term career goals. I encourage you to think through your industry/geography/function/role for short, mid and long-term career aspirations, and focus your MBA on developing any shills/experiences that are critical to develop to be successful (particularly in the short term role).
Lastly, your recommenders should have day-to-day experience working with you. Big titles don't matter much, here's some guidance for
Selecting the right recommenders.
Hope this is helpful and feel free to schedule a
consultation if you'd like to discuss further.
