Your profile has a lot working for it, but the GMAT gap and the extracurricular thinness are two very different problems that need different fixes before you apply anywhere serious.
• The expired 700 is the most time-sensitive issue here: on the current Focus Edition, a 700 Classic equivalent sits around Focus 645 to 655, which is below the admit median at most top-15 programs. You need to retake, and for M7 targets you should be aiming for Focus 675 or above, ideally 685-plus given that your work experience is still building.
• Your FP&A promotion at a US renewable energy firm is genuinely useful, not just as a credential but because the energy transition is a live strategic conversation in every MBA classroom right now; adcoms in the sustainability-focused programs will read that trajectory with interest.
• The academic record is clean across every stage, and a CFA Level 3 attempt in progress adds quantitative credibility that partly offsets a softer GMAT, but only partly.
• The extracurriculars as described will read thin: competition wins from undergrad and a single NGO event are not a leadership narrative. Before applications open, identify one ongoing commitment you can deepen and frame around impact, not participation.
Lock in the GMAT first, then build the EC story around your energy sector work.
