Hello there! I wanted to get your thoughts on the outcomes I received this year and I would also like to request advice for how to get off the waitlist for one of my schools.

R2 - Consortium Applications
--------------------------------
Michigan (Ross) - Rejected
UCLA (Anderson) - Rejected
NYU (Stern) - Rejected
CMU (Tepper) - Accepted
UTAustin (McCombs) - Accepted

Cornell (Johnson) - Waitlist after interview
Consortium - Rejected

R3 - Regular Application
---------------------------
Duke (Fuqua) - Rejected

Stats
------
Sex: Male
Race/Nationality: Indian/American
GPA: 2.76 (Electrical/Computer Engineering at a state school in the north east)
Grad GPA: 4.00 (MIS at a school in the north east)
GMAT: 690
Work Exp: 2.5 years Software Engineer at Fortune 500 (big telecom) (1 Promo), 1.5 years Tech Consulting at Big 4 (1 expected promo) (leading consulting engagement + won engagement extension worth \$\$\$)
Extra Curricular: CS Tutor for underprivileged kids; mentored interns at work

Career Goal: Go into Tech Product Management; I built my profile/essays around this goal but as you can see, I was only able to convert 50% of the applications from R2. I know my GPA is terrible, and my GMAT is average but keeping that in mind, did I peak with the schools I received admits from or do guys think I could have done better?

Hi,
Congrats on your acceptances and waitlist! Given the GPA challenge and so-so GMAT and overall competitiveness of the applicant pools, I feel the McCombs & Tepper acceptances are great outcomes for you... I can't say I feel you should have aimed much higher per se, in my view based on the limited info I have here. Re: Cornell's waitlist, follow their instructions but if at all possible, aim to contact them and let them know what you've been up to and why Cornell is your top choice. Check out our free waitlist guide below. Good luck to you!
