These are all relatively comparable programs in terms of ranking and difficult of getting admitted. If I had to categorize them out based on your profile, this would be the list:

Reach: UCLA, USC, CMU
Target: Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Emory, Cornell
Safety: Mendoza

But, please take this with a grain of salt. Again, don't hesitate to reach out for a free consultation!

That's great. Those 10 points are helpful. It might just change improve your chances enough at some of these schools. It's now only 10 shy of 700, which is a lot better than 680.

That said, I would not change your list. Not getting a 700+ does create a bit of a barrier. Fortunately, you have a great profile and should be competitive.

Let us know if we can be of additional help,

Admissionado - Thank you so much again for your advice. Looking at my school list, are there any schools that I should add/subsitute? I am particularly sensitive around my GMAT score so want to ensure I am competitive

It goes back to an earlier post - what exactly are you trying to optimize? Do you want to try for higher-ranked schools? Do you have a geographic preference? Do you have a particular career focus and therefore need to be at a program with a specialty in that field?

The list you have now (and the categorization we used) feels appropriate. You might want to add in another safety, "just to be safe" though I would argue Emory (Goizueta) could be moved from Target to Safety, in which case you're probably fine. Maybe Georgia Tech (Scheller) as another option?

How far along are you in this process? This is a long list of schools and if you are applying for R2 this year that's going to be a bit of a squeeze!

Let us know and, again, don't hesitate to schedule a free consultation with us to hash this out and learn more about how we can help. We do really well with 680/690 applicants!

Admissionado - Thanks for the detail. I am pretty far along with drafting essays. I would say I am nearing final drafts on 4 schools with a decent draft on the 5th. Not sure I have the bandwidth to add another school

Admissionado - One more quick question. Should I submit both my GMAT attempts to the schools. Here's the breakdown:

1st Attempt: 680 (Q47; V36; IR5)
2nd Attempt: 690 (Q48; V36; IR5)

There's not much difference other than the small bump in quant. Is it worth sending both to show that I have made more than 1 attempt?

Also, think I will be setting up a consultation to discuss in further detail.

No need to send both - just send the 690. You don't get credit for taking the exam twice. The schools only care about the highest score.

Glad to hear you are signing up for a consultation. Please let me know if we can make a recommendation on a particular consultant. Our team page is below. If you are open, we are happy to pair you with someone we believe could be an excellent fit.
