- Undergraduation from a tier-1 private university - BITS.
- GPA - 8.89
- Major - Electrical Engineering

Work experience:
- Working in one of the fastest growing F100 multinational company in the semi-conductor industry for the last 3 years
- Working in an engineering role in a team coordinating projects from start to end

Any specific questions you would like answered by our team:
- Being from an overrepresented group, I am apprehensive about my chances at the top B schools like Kellogg and Tuck. I would like to understand my chances for getting into those schools?
- I want to go to a school with collaborative culture which focusses on team work along with leadership. Is there any other school I should be looking at?
- What are the chances of getting a good scholarship at these schools?
- Another school which pops up frequently is Yale SOM. Though it seems like it is known primarily for sending students to the non-profit sector. Does my profile match for Yale SOM applications?
- What are some good questions I should be asking while networking with alums and adcoms? By good, I don't want to ask questions to impress folks. I want to ask questions which help me gain valuable insights into the application process and schools.

Hi dhruvgarg, you seem well-informed and ask good questions. Let me see if I can attack your list.
- Unfortunately, it's impossible to predict your chances very accurately based on the information you've supplied, we can only guess, because of course the process will include many things not captured above like personal stories, recommender insights and interview performance as well...but you are in a hyper competitive category, which makes it tough for you. I would say that because some of your stats are better than the norm (GMAT) but other stats are weaker (work experience - we know your company has grown and it seems like you have good responsibility but I'm not sure about your promotions or what your recommenders would say and your total years is lower than school averages), your chances are likely about at the average admit rate or slightly below it for the programs mentioned. If you had a bit more work experience, you'd position yourself more favorably. Of course, if you can demonstrate exceptional leadership, impact and personal stories, you can improve your positioning too!
- I like this question, but you already have a good list. Those would be exactly the schools I would pick for what you describe. To add to the list, maybe you'd also consider Darden, UNC Kenan-Flagler and Foster....
- Scholarships are hard to guess, and often happen out of my view, but generally I've seen these go to students who are bringing highly desirable things to the table in terms of perspective/diversity or stats. I do think that Darden and Kellogg can be generous, but that does not mean everyone gets a scholarship. It can be tougher if you are in a competitive category. I would make sure you apply to schools where your stats are well above the norm.
- I think if you can articulate why Yale and bring in some of your passion for what draws you to its mission, then you can be a good fit there. You do have that public policy experience and govt. experience, which shows your interest in a greater good. I think that could be part of your story. Yale does recruit into MBB and is very global, so those things match, but I think you're right that there is something of an idealistic bent to many SOM students, so I'd see if you feel like that matches your perspective.
- I find that open ended questions asking about people's experiences and why they chose the schools they did and what they wish people knew more about their schools (or that they had understood before going there) often can elicit good insights. Also, just following areas of genuine interest can be productive - be curious, what appeals to you when you look at what they do?
