Hello,
I’m planning to apply at Stage 1 to Oxford Said and MIT Sloan. Need your help in evaluating my profile and would like to know what I can strengthen and emphasize in my application

Profile:
Male, age 26, Indonesian, born and raised in a small village (rural area)
First-generation college graduate
Undergrad: Chemical Engineering in Indonesia's Top 1 engineering institute, GPA almost 3.3
GMAT: 730 (Q50, V38), IR 6, AWA 6
IELTS Academic: 7.5

Work experience:
-3 yrs as process/operation engineer in Indonesia's state-owned mining company, the largest nickel producer in Indonesia
-No major promotions
-change roles
-work in cross-functional teams
-led and conducted several improvement/investment projects
-project control, management, budgeting

Additional/volunteering
- Leader in 2 major campus organizations during college
- Mentor for current chem.eng student who are scholarship awardees
- Part of the culture activation team in the mining holding industry
- Secretary in covid 19 task force team - worked and coordinated with top management across functions

Achievement/Awards:
- Top 5 paper business comp during college
- Recently got awarded by the Indonesian Government a full scholarship to pursue my MBA

Post-MBA:
-work in the development of nickel as EVs battery material in the same holding company that i currently work for

I know I come from a very rare background (mining), and I don't see many engineers (let alone from mining) doing an MBA, so I have doubts about my background. I would like to hear your advice and what are my chances?

Thanks in advance.

Mining engineering is not an issue. Male engineers are the issue. Male engineers are overrepresented group and hence your diversity may not matter much. However your descent(nationality) would help you in diversity issue.

Your gmat score is good enough. I believe you can get into your dream college if you work enough on your profile, essays, videos and interview process. GMAT score and your background are just enough to get you into the door.

Best of luck
