Hi
santhosh29, thanks for sharing your profile with us at
mbaMission.
Academic-wise, you've got great stats. Your work experience also seems strong too, with multiple promotions and team management responsibilities. You're at a good point in your career to apply since you'll be close to the average years of work experience (5 at most programs). It sounds like your extracurriculars are enough to check the box, but not anything that shows a lot of leadership or will differentiate you from other applicants. Maybe there's more to that involvement or other personal activities you can use to show drive and leadership.
It's good you're thinking about alternate career paths. I do think Investment Banking could be seen as too big of a switch, though it also seems plausible that someone might want to make that switch after working in a Bank. If you can show aptitude and interest in quant/financial modeling skills, then I think it's possible. But for application purposes, it may be easier to focus on product management, perhaps with a focus on financial services or fintech.
Based on what I see, H/S/W are going to be super tough. Booth and Sloan and other M7s are doable but still a stretch. Your safest odds are in the T15 schools. So, aim for a mix of schools, and think carefully about how much risk you want to take on with your school list.
Hope that helps!
Kate
