Hi everyone, I’m looking for an honest evaluation of my profile for top European MiM programs.
Basic Profile
I’m studying Biology at IISER Mohali, which is a fairly unconventional background for a MiM.
My biggest weakness is my academic record: 7.2/10 CPI. My 10th/12th scores were 94.2%/82%.
I’ve generally been much stronger outside the classroom than in conventional examinations. I tend to understand concepts well but have struggled to translate that consistently into exam performance, partly because I have been heavily involved in leadership, professional work and building things outside academics.
I’m hoping the combination of a 675 GMAT, rigorous science background and professional/extracurricular record can provide some context to the GPA.
Professional Experience
ZOVAC — Founder | Feb 2026–Present
I started ZOVAC as an operational consulting venture after repeatedly seeing gaps between strategy and execution in businesses.
DeepThought — Business Analyst | Jan 2026–Oct 2026
This has probably been the most influential professional experience for me.
I joined as a Business Analyst and was promoted into a leadership role within one month, eventually managing a 5-member team.
This experience made me realize how frequently organizations struggle not because the strategy is wrong, but because execution, processes and organizational alignment are weak. That is what pushed me toward consulting.

Founder — Finance Club, IISER Mohali
I founded IISER Mohali’s first finance-oriented student club.
Finance Head — Insomnia 2025 & iGEM
I worked on placement operations and outreach for a newly established placement cell.
I conceptualized and pitched a product called Format Studio and advanced to Round 2 among 205+ international teams.
Sports
I represented the IISER basketball team and led a 10-member squad to two consecutive inter-batch championships, with a 35% improvement in team scoring average.
I was also previously a state-level U-16 Kabaddi player, competing in 22 matches.

Why MiM?
My academic background is Biology, but I gradually started applying systems thinking from biology to business problems.
My progression has essentially been:
I have been able to teach myself a lot and build systems independently, but as the problems became more complex, I realized that my business knowledge was not developing as quickly as my ability to solve problems.
I therefore see the MiM as a way to formally build the management, strategy and organizational knowledge that I currently lack.
My short-term goal is management consulting, ideally in Europe, where I can work on complex organizational problems across industries. Long term, I want to return to entrepreneurship and build ZOVAC or another venture at a much larger scale.

The 483 failed attempts to build the Finance Club, the state-level Kabaddi background add athletic leadership that was missing from the earlier profile, the McKinsey Forward Program and BCG Strategy Consultant simulation, the Schulich Global Competition; all these additions meaningfully strengthen the case at ESSEC and Imperial, and improve the picture at LBS, HEC and INSEAD — though the score and GPA concerns from the earlier evaluation remain unchanged.

ESSEC and ESCP are genuine targets. HEC remains a reach. INSEAD remains ambitious. St. Gallen is the most challenging on score alone with a 730 median, treat as aspirational.
2. How damaging is the 7.2 CPI given the IISER Biology background?
Less damaging than a 7.2 from a commerce or engineering institution, but still a concern at HEC and INSEAD.
3. Is 675 GMAT sufficient or would a retake help?
At ESSEC, ESCP, and Imperial: 675 is sufficient. At HEC and INSEAD, a retake to 690-695 would materially help. If a focused prep can get you there before deadlines, it's worth it. If not, invest that time in essays instead.
4. Does the Biology → Business/Consulting transition look coherent?
Yes and it's actually one of the more intellectually honest pivots I've seen. Systems thinking applied from Biology to operational consulting is a specific and credible intellectual thread, not a vague pivot.
5. Is the professional experience strong enough despite being short?
Stronger than it initially appeared and is above-avg for someone still in undergrad. The brevity is the only real concern, not the quality.
6. Does entrepreneurship strengthen or create concern about career direction?
It strengthens but remember: Adcoms want to see you're committed to the MiM's consulting pathway, not hedging with entrepreneurship as a backup.
7. Biggest strengths and biggest red flags?
