Education background:
Graduated with a 3.1 GPA from university of rochester (top 30 school) with double major in business and political science. Entering my junior year I had a 2.47 GPA but really turned things around in my last 4 semesters. College athlete for all 4 years.
Work description:
Internships: 2 summer internships at real estate investment firm centered out of NYC. Small family shop with 500MM personal AUM. Performed accounting and general financial modeling work (taking a crack at analyzing potential new acquisitions).
Years 1/2 - Finance leadership development program at commercial bank (FPA, Audit, Accounting, Treasury). Entered work as a rotational analyst at commercial bank w/ 50B in overall assets. Was identified as key high performer, received highest possible performance reviews with some of senior management identifying me as the most impressive rotational analyst the bank had. Notable projects include leading CFO and director of financial planning through earnings process by creating and organizing reports out to the street, answering top 10 Q/A section for analyst questions, fulfilling full time Assistant VP position in treasury accounting, produced 10Q investment and borrowing footnote standalone, fulfilling senior financial analyst role within first two weeks of beginning at the bank, also helped to lead FPA organization through merger of equals.
After program ended took a job in FPA that performed project integration work (for MOE), investor relations work (prep for earnings directly with CFO & director of financial planning), and modeling in corporate development (helped to model two deals that I cannot talk about due to NDA's.)
Currently - Accepted an offer as a finance associate at Morgan Stanley. New role is undefined at this point but will be contributing to management of 5 billion dollar P/L for wealth management practice. As of now role seems to be mainly centered around data analytics in terms of producing the P/L and reporting key metrics to management. Took this position to get into the firm - eyeing a transition into a different line of business, ideally a treasury or risk management function.
Extracurriculars:

I have not taken the GMAT. I received a 2150 on my SAT so I feel that with a reasonable amount of effort I can crack 700,. I know this is one of the most crucial parts of an application however I am looking for an opinion with a 700 GMAT as a given. I think it is reasonable I can score this high given how much time I have to prepare. Always a great test taker.
Career goals: Looking to either take a front office assiociate role at an investment bank, or, work in private equity at a real estate investment firm. I am extreemly passionate about real estate investment and feel that this is my future. Not very happy with my current line of corporate finance work at a bank. Nothing wrong with my firm - just not sure I want to make a career out of this.
Would I be competitve? What more can I do? I am also a multiracial male, however, not latino or african american. I am guyanese (ethnically indian however south american)
Thanks!
