Anyone who scored well on the GMAT has probably considered how to best market their score, either on a resume or LinkedIn. Let's be real- you want people to know about it! Perhaps you may have even, like I did, gone to your LinkedIn page, started to edit your profile and slam up that "720" or "770" or whatever monster score you got, only to stop and think... "Does this make me look like a d-bag?"
The fact is, to some degree, my intentions are not honorable because, to be honest, I want potential employers to be impressed by my great score. But at the same time, they're honorable because I worked really hard to earn that score, and I think it's helps represent part of my skill set.
Now keep in mind I'm talking about LinkedIn here. Many opinions differ on the purpose of LinkedIn and its purpose in the professional world, so I'd like to hear your thoughts. LinkedIn has a specific place for "Test Scores," where the name of the test and the score you got can be front and center. For now, I'm staying away from that section, but I'm conflicted because I personally have two pretty good test scores (LSAT and GMAT, 99th percentile). For now I've placed them as a last small bullet in my "Additional Honors and Awards Section," and it reads "99th percentile LSAT and GMAT." Not the actual score.
What do you think?
