Q51 = All correct?

Question

Is a 100% accuracy required for Q51? Can anyone in this forum who gave GMAT in 2020 confirm this? I havent seen as esr with q51 having any question incorrect?

Deeptanshu02  - Absolutely, not. A Q51 score does not require 100% accuracy; you could get several questions incorrect yet get a Q51 on the GMAT. Please make sure you understand well how the GMAT scoring algorithm works.

Yes I scored a Q51 once with all correct and Q50 the other time. Q51 was luck on my side as with 28secs left I just read the question and went with gut feeling and correctly guessed last question.

Hi Deeptanshu02,

To answer your immediate question: NO - you do not need to 'ace' the Quant section to earn a Q51. Here's a recent post (with a link to an ESR) that proves it:

On Test Day, it's unlikely that you will be able to assess how well you're performing AS you work through the Test, so trying to think in those terms is not a good use of your time or efforts. You CAN certainly afford to get some questions wrong and still score a Q51 though - but you've got to correctly deal with all of the 'gettable' questions in that section.

1) How have you been scoring on your recent CATs/mocks (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) What is your overall goal score?
3) When are you planning to take the GMAT?

Good quant score consistency. Even with a bit of luck a Q51 is a Q51.

I am planning on 780 . Haven't given the GMAT even once so Im afraid of underperforming especially since time is never my friend
My Mocks at GMAT Prep 1 and 2 :760 and 780
MGMAT: Q50 V43
and since that Q50 And Q51 is a clear 10 point difference I am working on that now. Planning to give GMAT in October as soon as offline centers reopen

Is it true that out of 31 Q only 28 are counted while out of 36 only 30 are counter in verbal?
