Hello all,

I took the GMAT on 5th June 2018 and scored 710 (Q46, V41). I am taking the GMAT exam again and have booked my date for July 26th 2018.

As you can see, my Quant score brought me down. Prior to my exam, I had finished the Manhattan Quant Guides and 21 of the 26 GMATClub Quant Tests. I scored 49 in 3 if those tests and 48 in 2. Apart from that, my scores ranged from 40-46. My GMAT prep mocks were also between 46-50.

Now I need to work on my Quant for the next month. I have started working through the Manhattan Advanced Quant Guide. Apart from that, I am really unsure what to do to pull up my score to a Q50.

Attached is my ESR for Quant. Could you please go through it provide your thoughts on where I went wrong on the exam and recommendations to improve it?

Also, if there are any test prep companies who can help me get a Q50, pls let me know your offers.

Hey MBAaspirant939,
To start with, you have an excellent score in the VA section. However, a score of Q46 is approximately equivalent to 60 percentile. Hence, there are lots of scope for improvement.

ESR Report:
• As per the report provided by you, the main faltering part is the 2nd and 3rd section.
• In section 2, the difficulty level was higher whereas you spent the least amount of time per question.
• In section 3, although difficulty level got down due to the errors in previous section, the response time was comparatively lower.
It is quite possible that you were unable to judge the question’s difficulty level and put your responses as per that.

There should be another part of the ESR which gives you the PS-DS segregation as well as topic wise segregation of quant topics. If you can remember the topics of the questions in section 2 and 3, you may consider those to work on.

Some resources you should consider:

In e-GMAT, we provide score improvement guarantee, depending on your initial score. There are many students who scored Q50+ in their journey to GMAT preparation. With the level of preparation that you already possess, it is definitely possible to improve your Quant as well as Overall score to a significant level.

Hi,

Thanks for the time taken to go through my ESR. I have attached the second page of the ESR as well, can you analyse and recommend pls?

Also, is there a free trial of your course I can sign up for? I’d very much like to improve my score using a good course.

Hey MBAaspirant939,

As per the ESR, both PS and DS are in similar situation, with a little more efficiency in Data Sufficiency. However, if you are aiming for a Q48+ score, efficiencies in both need to be increased significantly.

I would suggest you register in our website– upon registration you will get many free resources to try. Also make sure to attend the upcoming free session on Number Properties (On 8th July) and Quant Workshop (On 15th July) – the link of which you will get after your registration. Attend those sessions, learn and shape your preparation accordingly.
