Hello friends,
I have slightly tweaked an official guide question to turn an inference question to an evaluate question, please take a look and try it out ! I request everyone to give an analysis and explain your answer as well. Let us discuss the pitfalls and horn our skills. Thanks a lot!
Question:
Proponents of the recently introduced tax on sales of new luxury boats had argued that a tax of this sort would be an equitable way to increase government revenue because the admittedly heavy tax burden would fall only on wealthy people and neither they nor anyone else would suffer any economic hardship. In fact, however, 20 percent of the workers employed by manufacturers of luxury boats have lost their jobs as a direct result of this tax.
Which of the following concerns have to be addressed in order to determine if the move will lead to a net gain in tax revenue or not?
A. Whether the workers who lost their jobs are able to find new jobs.
B. Whether the manufacturers of luxury boats will be able to find other cost cutting measures instead of firing employees
C. Whether the market of luxury boats was already on a path of decline.
D. Whether the manufacturers will increase the selling price of a luxury boat.
E. Whether the increase in revenue due to the luxury tax exceeds the decrease in revenue due to worker’s loss of jobs
