Not gonna be able to attend the chat this week due to school related commitments. However, if you PM me questions beforehand, I can PM back the answers before the scheduled chat time.

I am hoping to be starting a program this summer. I will be a full-time student. I am wondering whether it is worth staying in my current studio apartment and living on my own, paying the rent with loan money or if it would be better to move in with roommates and pay less than half what I am paying now. When I was in undergrad I would get so flustered with with roommate situations. I need quiet to study. So my question for current students is do you think it is worth the financial saving of living with roomates or would advise, for purposes of group work, privacy and personal study that it's better to have one's own place?

Thanks!

They should be fresh in the first year's minds for sure.

I never seem to able to make it along to these, sadly. As I understand it though, recruitment is certainly looking up from the ugly that took place through 2009, with a lot seeming to pick up in Q4.

I was wondering if anyone is doing an entrepreneurship program. If so:

1) What is your opinion of it (now that you are in it)? How does your experience so far differ from your initial expectations?
2) How much time do you get to actually test out the theories (ie: actually doing the dirty work of forming a company, brainstorming for ideas, raising money...etc)? Do you think it would have made a difference if you just went ahead and do a startup without the MBA (and thus saving yourself $200,000)?
3) Is it unusual for someone to choose both entrepreneurship and investing (HF/markets/finance and economics) as specialization?

Other questions
4) If I want to develop a core, specialized skill (eg: stock picking), is an MBA still useful?
5) For folks trying to get into a HF/IM, what courses are you taking at your school and how do those courses prepare you for a HF career? Do you just learn about existing models or are you encouraged to develop your own?
6) Lastly, if you could go back in time, what would you have liked to know before doing your MBA? Get more pre-MBA work experience? Learn another language?

Thank you so much in advance for taking the time and initiative to help aspiring MBA students out!

Hi,

Quick Question:
Are there Resident Advisor or Resident Assistant job positions open for MBA students at the top 10 schools (i.e. a job that pays for room and board yet allows you to live on campus and be a resource to other (grad) students)?

*Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Puys,

Below pasted are statistics of Wharton class 2009 placements. Could you pls suggesst wht happened to remaining 110 (660-550) , ones who did not get placements, thts a whooping figure. were thy all international students, mostly Indians?

Actually listening to IIM's figures of every student getting 2-3 placements each gives a shiver , don't want to come back with a heavy loan.

I hv scored 98%ile in CAT currently working (3 yrs), will try to hit 740-750 in GMAT. The obvious question is "Is it worth going there"?.

Class of 2009 Overview
This information is as of September 30, 2009 and is collected and reported according to MBA CSC standards. #%
Students Seeking Full Time Employment 660

Seeking Students Reporting Full Time Job Offers 550

I am not getting satisfactory answers , so PUYS pls help!!!!!

P.S. I am not a pessimist just a Chartered Accountant, likes working on the conservative side.

P.S.2 Pls consider me a nascent, although answer by experts are welcome.
