For Duke....it is kind of confusing. Their website says that people may request for an alumni interview.
However, the Adcom has gone on record and said that there will be some amount of screening done regardless.
NOT ALL who request for an alumni interview will be given one..

Excerpt from an accepted.com admissions chat with Liz Riley Hargrove, Fuqua's Assistant Dean, MBA Daytime Program

LizRileyHargroveFUQUA (Nov 29, 2007 1:15:30 PM)
We have a policy change this year for alumni interviews. This year, alumni interviews will be by invitation only. This is so that we can accommodate the large number of requests we get for alumni interviews.

I would go by what Liz says they are doing this year. So your interview call is by invitation after all...

Woohoo chin is indeed up
I just checked my e-mails and I had requested an interview with Kellogg, but they could not "accomodate me" because of my location, so they waived the interview as a requirement in my application.

So basically, right now I'd say
Wharton - dinged
Harvard - no request for interview = bad :(
Kellogg - interview not required
Fuqua - interviewed, yay
Anderson - no request for interview = bad :(
Fisher - no request for interview = bad?
Krannert - no request for interview = bad?

This is not looking extremely promising, I would say

Thanks for all the continued help

I believe Kellogg does interview 100% of admitted students. If they dont have an alum in your area and you dont want to go to campus they waive your interview initially. Then if they are thinking about admitting you they will then set up a phone interview. They have extended their interview deadlines because of an increase in volume so there is still plenty of time. I hate to say it but without a phone interview I believe the best you can hope for is a WL at Kellogg...I may not be 100% correct on this but thats what I have heard and read.

Thanks for the info riverripper

I guess I have to just wait it out and hope things work out

It seems that my profile was not as highly sought after as I first thought

I am 0 for 1, but definitely do not want to go 0 for 7

Let's hope one of them gives me a shot ;)

Dont worry, the only person who is batting 1.000 at this point is nervous. The rest of us all have dings, I like to think that it builds character.

I'm batting at 1.0000 but not from any of the M7 schools. I don't expect to keep my record now that i'm waiting for the most important schools in my list (Kellogg, Stanford, Cornell).

Although i could just withdraw from them to keep my 1.000 average  ... Reject them before they have a chance to reject me

Haha and some of us like myself have dings across the board - both R1 AND R2 and zero admits so far.

I wish you luck on your M7 apps togafoot, I hope you keep your perfect batting average

I'm a little worried about not getting into any school. But oh well, life goes on. If I get dinged across the board, I'll take a couple years to reassess and strengthen my profile and go from there.

Just an update:

I still have not heard anything new from any university decision-wise or interview-wise

I know my applications are complete, since I had received e-mails pointing to that fact earlier, and by having checked the status pages of the applications

I know I will hear from Duke, as well as all of you, on Friday

And as I mentioned earlier, I have only interviewed with Duke, and was already dinged from Wharton

When should I start worrying about not hearing from the other schools?

I think it is highly unlikely I will get an interview request at this point, so how does that affect my chances of acceptance?

Thank you for all your previous replies, but my feelings mirror those of rajpdsouza's

thanks togafoot

tomorrow is the Fuqua decision, im scared

I scheduled my Fisher interview for tuesday...it is a skype interview

That is the first time that I have seen that option

I could have chosen an on-campus interview, a phone interview, or a skype interview

Glad to see some universities are diversifying their options

regards
majosan
