I recently applied to Rotterdam in Round 5 and Kelley in Round 1, and although I received interview invitations for both, unfortunately, I did not secure an admission.

In reflecting on my application, I'm wondering whether I should primarily focus on refining my interview skills or invest time in enhancing my essays as well for Round 2. Both schools shortlisted my essays, leading me to wonder if the issue might be limited to the interview, but it may very well be that out of all the shortlisted students my essays are also not that good. I have more than six years of experience working in different managerial roles in retail banking. I have a GMAT of 710. My Goal is to switch to consulting, focused on advising Financial Services Clients. I am targeting Colleges like Kenan-Flagler, Goizueta, Terry, Mendoza. Any advice on this is welcome.

Hello SSurabhi,

Hope this finds you well.

One cannot speculate what the exact reason is.

With Rotterdam, it could just simply be about you having applied in a later round. Other reasons could be your interview performance, the cohort diversity the schools is looking to maintain, or the feasibility of your goals. It could even just be chance.

The attempt should be to fix the objective issues that appear to be weaknesses.

With regard to the interview prep, we have some material that will prove to be helpful to you. Kindly go through the videos on the link below:
