Reapplicant: Do schools also refer to old resume?

Question

While the major change in my resume would obviously be the work I've done in the past year, I also want rephrase and replace certain points from my older resume. Would this seem dishonest? Do adcoms compare the old and new resume side by side to see what has changed?

friskymarkets  rephrasing your achievements on your resume is not a negative thing at all. In fact, most schools conduct sessions to help students optimize their resumes to bring out their achievements, leadership qualities, and true potential before the job season. You will not become a management grad in the true sense unless you learn to sell your experience and capabilities. Adcoms will have your old application at their disposal but they will make the decision only basis your updated resume. 
Make sure that resume achievements are corroborated by your LORs or certificates in some manner to add more credibility.

As the previous post mentioned, the old resume is available to them but they likely won't use it or place much emphasis on it to evaluate your candidacy this time around.

As long as objective matters like titles, quantifiable results, etc. (especially those from the past that wouldn't have changed) aren't altered, you should be fine.

In fact, updating your resume is probably necessary to show the marked change and improvement that is needed to be a successful re-applicant.

As long as the broad objective facts and numbers do not change, there is no issue whatsoever if you choose to update/modify your resume. Rephrasing shows that you are making improvements and that is desirable.

Schools keep your old materials and have access to your previous application, but I wouldn't worry about that too much. Just be ready to explain the changes in case it comes up in the interview.
