Hi, and thanks for writing! I don't think it would necessarily help much to mention that you were accepted to another program and decided not to go, but you could mention it in passing as you're explaining why you stayed in Brazil. However, for the program you're reapplying to that is your top choice, it would be good to mention this. Hope that helps!

Hi,
Let me try to explain this a little better.
Last year I applied to a few schools, including HBS, Booth and Ross.
I was interviewed at HBS (rejected), wait-listed at Booth and accepted at Ross.
For reasons beyond my control, I had to decided to stay in Brazil (my home country) and couldn't go to Ross.
Now, I'm reapplying to the same schools.
The reasons that made me stay are already covered on my essay, since they were very relevant in my life, but my question is:
Should my essays to HBS and/or Booth mention that last year I was accepted at another program, but decided not to go?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
A. Santana
