A. Chemical analyses of the ingredients of the RockUp energy drink confirm that the drink contains at least six vitamins that are very good for a balanced diet. B. The marketing strategies followed by RockUp energy drink are one of the best in the country. C. For the quarter for which low sales were recorded recently, RockUp and other companies producing energy drinks have always experienced low sales. D. The chemicals used in the energy drink are not as harmful as the allegations claimed. E. The allegations against RockUp were made not only in the United States but also in other countries.

This is a cause and effect reasoning argument. The argument claims that allegations against Rockup have caused low sales
Attacking argument (Pre-thinking):
There are 4 ways to attack this argument:
1) Show that there is an alternate cause for low sales
2) Show that the allegations indeed caused something else and not low sales
3) Show that this relation is reversed i.e. low sales have resulted in more allegations
4) Show that allegations and low sales were caused by a third reason
Answer analysis:
A. Chemical analyses of the ingredients of the RockUp energy drink confirm that the drink contains at least six vitamins that are very good for a balanced diet. (So what ? there may be one harmful ingredient) B. The marketing strategies followed by RockUp energy drink are one of the best in the country. (So what ? Their ingredients could still contain harmful ingredients) C. For the quarter for which low sales were recorded recently, RockUp and other companies producing energy drinks have always experienced low sales. (Aha, this is inline with pre-think #1 ) D. The chemicals used in the energy drink are not as harmful as the allegations claimed. (They are not as harmful but still some harmfulness is there) E. The allegations against RockUp were made not only in the United States but also in other countries. (So what ? Out of scope)
