Hi,
I am looking towards Deferred Admissions 2024.
For LoRs, Deferred MBA schools suggested to have 2 LoRs (1 from academics' professor and 1 from internship manager).
My question is - What should be the length of the internship that would seem appropriate to business schools?
For example, I did an internship for 1 and a half months during my summer vacations, does this qualify in the eyes of the business schools? Or should I go with 2 academic LoRs?

harveyyyyy great question! I hope my answer gives some clarity to other deferred MBA applicants too.
In my opinion, what matters in an internship is not just the length of time spent, but the impact you make towards achieving the organization's/team's goals. Take, for example, someone working as a technical manager, software engineer, or strategy analyst for a timed project can accomplish meaningful outcomes. While I understand that longer internships offer more chances to learn about teamwork and other aspects, having a 1.5-month internship with compelling examples of impact can be more beneficial than having no professional Letter of Recommendation at all. Only go for a 2nd academic LOR if your internship manager really has nothing to say about your capabilities, which would be wierd imo.
