Hey there,
Would be cool, if you can evaluate my profile as I plan to apply for some MiM programs in 2020.
My long term goal is to become a CSR leader,
My short term goal is to get into Management consulting, maybe digital branch.
I consider mostly theese bschools:
FSFM MiM
Imperial College MiM
ESCP Europe MiM
ESADE MiM
Some stats about me:
TOEFL IbT: 101/120
GMAT: Still in preparation, but a good GMAT score will be definitely possible. So consider one around 680?
GPA: DHBW Stuttgart (Computer Science) - will be 3.0
I am a german male, Age 20, graduating in 2019.
Im currently pretty demotivated because of the exotic study form i do. Im in my Computer Science Bachelor at the DHBW Stuttgart, studying dual. That means im working half the semester, and the other half im studying in classes and do normal exams. I guess, you can count that as 1,5 years internships at the same company during studies. In my early years, i viewed that as proof of my hard-working, focused personality. Today, im not so sure anymore. Because the company is no brand name and my studies are not that much theoretical as studies at a university (but instead give credits on some projects at the company), which i did not consider until now.
Does anyone of you have some experience with that? I already know that the Maastricht and Mannheim MiM accepted people from the DHBW who studied economics. But i totally have no clue about Computer Science Applicants.
Internships:
In my internships, i was working most of the time together with other people on business software applications. From the beginning till the end of the rollout at the customer.
That way i gained a lot of experience within the team, within the company software production process and the project stuff involved. I learned how the company functions from the top to the bottom and thats from where my interest in management comes from.
I was heading the interns for a project.
The advantage is, i was working all the time with the same company. But i guess that can also be a disadvantage, since no brand name.
Work Experience:
i will do 1 year of work experience after i finish my bachelor, probably as junior project leader. That way i can bring in some leading experience and work experience.
volunteer work:
I do tutoring for some students since a few months, in german, english and maths.
extra curricular:
I did not hold a good opinion about competitions, so i did not win any decent awards.
Im doing sports with a local workout group, also partly leading them. I was playing volleyball during my studies, and I did a lot of sports (swimming, climbing, race biking, jogging, participating every year in a racing bike marathon with ~3000 people) and music in my leisure time.
Also, over the past 3 years, i lived with indians, chinese and german people together and learned a lot about their culture. - I do not have a semester abroad or similiar.
Questions: I am very nervous about my study form and whether that is an advantage or disadvantage. Also, will they view me in the same pool with all indian male it engineers or somehow different since im from germany?
Looking forward to hearing all your thoughts and any advice for what to pay attention to. There is still potential, i just dont know how to enhance my chances the best.
A plan B for me would be, stopping doing my current bachelor and begin a fresh bachelor degree in economics with a quantitative background at a university, paying attention to a better GPA and relevant internships.
