Can you explain why A is wrong?

We need to eliminate all the options where pronoun 'they' is dubios - that is, when it follows words like skills or areas.

Eliminate A and B, and also C because 'they' is standing so far that there's no way to actually attribute it.

In D, we have a ton of 'who' pronouns but no actual subject among them.

Therefore, E is the only suitable option.

In up to is correctly modifying the knowledge.
In Option A the main issue is with they. It is too far away from anything that it could refer back to ( sensibly)
