It's a great place though the crowd definitely does not seem NYUish.

Oh man, McSorley's is great. Unfortunatly I won't get back to NYC until Saturday morning. You guys have fun, though and I'm definitely looking forward to Arlo & Esme on the 16th.

Alright, bumping this thread for a roll call. As things stand, we're meeting up at Arlo & Esme on 42 E. 1st St. (not far from the F,V LES station) on the evening of the 16th. Should we shoot for 6:00-6:30pm?

Arlo & Esme is definitely a non-shady bar and in my opinion well worth the trip to the East Village. In general, I don't find the East Village shady. Alphabet City to the east of it can be a bit sketch on certain alleyways at certain times past midnight but, from what I understand, even that area is pretty well gentrified compared to just ten to fifteen years ago.
