How about the Croton Reservoir on 40th and Sixth? Or BXL Cafe on 43rd and Sixth? Otherwise Jerz should suggest something East of Fifth Avenue.

I'll throw in Ginger Man on 36th if you guys want to venture east of 5th (it's btw 5th and Madison), but if you guys are all closer to Times Square I'll walk over to 6th.

Im staying at the Westin Times Square so I think Solaris1 is keeping it in that area because (1) I dont know New York (2) Solaris thinks I will get mugged and/or kidnapped if I venture too far on my own

Ginger Man is good (as is the bar right across from it, Under the Volcano) - I too am up for whatever works best for everyone.
Raabend - just watching out for you, the delicate flower that you are do you think you'll be OK venturing 11 blocks east of your hotel? :)

11 blocks east of the Westin would put him somewhere in the middle of the East River. :stupid

Well I didn't mean 11 blocks east as the crow flies, just that Ginger Man would be an 11 block walk for raabend. :) Anyway, BXL is a small Belgian bar and Croton Reservoir is a posh gastropub BUT it has a room downstairs that has a happy hour. I'm open to better suggestions, so the rest of the New York crew chime in - but please let's keep it somewhere Midtown.

Ginger Man is way better than anything that exists between Bryant Park and Times Square. An absolute black hole for quality drinking if there ever were one in Manhattan (Murray Hill excluded, as noone would ever go there anyway).

We'll see. I have no classes, but... well... I will have to check.
