Hi All,

I took my first GMAT last year and got 480 but this year after preparing for around 6 months and getting gmatprep score of 650 both the time.I scored 510 in actual test
For preparation I use :
Princeton Review Guides
OG

Should I retake ?

Hi shivam37,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) Have you used any other study materials besides the books that you listed?
2) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)? Have you taken any of those CATs more than once?

Goals:
3) What is your goal score?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

LBS is a highly-competitive School, so a higher GMAT Score will almost certainly be necessary. I have a few follow-up questions about your timeline and studies:

1) What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on your 2 Official GMATs?
2) What is the exact application deadline for the MiM Program that you want to apply to? Are there any later application Rounds?
3) Is that the only Program that you plan to apply to? If there are others, then what are their application deadlines?

Did you answer all the questions on time during the exam?

If you're gonna retake the exam, consider getting different textbook. Here are the links for the best books:
Best GMAT Math Books
Best GMAT Verbal Books

If you're quant score is in the mid 40's, chances are you're lacking on concepts. You have to thoroughly go through GMAT math concepts, and then hone timing and accuracy.

Your verbal score has to be at least V35-37 to get 700+. SC is the easisest section to improve, I'd go with Manhattan SC. CR is tougher, condider getting Powerscore CR Bible.

I agree that since you are applying to LBS, you will need to retake your GMAT. That being said, if you do decide to retake the exam and would like some advice regarding your study plan, please respond to the questions already asked, and I can provide further advice.
