Retake GMAT or focus on profile?

Question

Hi folks, 
I scored 675 in GFE with 96 percentile. 
I am targeting ISB as of now.

My academics are - 9/9/9 from a reputed Engineering college.

I have 3 years of work-ex in a big European Bank working in cloud domain. Recently got promoted as well.

Extra-curriculares include Sports content writing and analytics. I have written and edited articles for an international football website with quite a good amount of readership.

Is it worth going for a retake or will 675 with this profile will suffice for ISB?

I would argue you have a very competitive score and profile, and there shouldn't be any issues.

If you feel you can improve the score (given there's some time before R1), it doesn't hurt giving it another shot, but I wouldn't insist much, assuming the Q/ V/ DI split was balanced. You really need to give more details.

- Which specific colledge did you graduate from?
- Is your work primarily technical in nature?
- What are your career goals?

675 is a decent score, but considering that there are still few months before the admission cycle kicks-in, retaking GMAT might not be a bad idea.. However, whether you decide to re-take GMAT, would depend on:

- How much were you scoring in official mocks? If you were scoring higher than 675, it might not be a bad idea to retake.
- How much did you prepare for GMAT? If you prepared for a very short time, it might not be a bad idea to prepare slightly longer and retake.
- What was your sectional split? If you feel that you under-performed in any section, it might not be a bad idea to retake.

I think you have a fantastic score. That said, if you can improve your GMAT score with minimal effort, I say give it a shot. You really have nothing to lose, right?

Hi. The average of the past years has been hovering around 700 or 710 which is about 655 so I think you have a solid score.

I don’t think getting a higher score would be deciding your admission chances but if you can get a higher score without major investment of time and money, it could result into a scholarship or a better scholarship
