I think I am in the same boat as a few people; which is I scored a 700+ GMAT, but am going to retake it. I really sought out the opinions of knowledgable people on whether it was worth my effort. The opinions ranged, but everyone agreed that it is not worth doing it at the cost of weakening my essays. Since it is still so early I dont think it is.
I have all my data from previously taking it and am using it as a benchmark. I hope to serve as some example as to someone retaking it with a 710 and how I go about improving my score, if at all.
Right now i am aiming to retake it the last weekend of May.
i have started soley working on SC as this was my biggest weakness.

48 on Math, 39 on verbal.
On GMATPreps, before the test, i had scored two 49's on math, and two 41's on verbal.
On the actual GMAT I finished verbal 10 minutes early.
My biggest weakness is SC. An area which I think is easiest to prove.
Thus far I have gone through 250 SC 100 Questions. The last 50 questions, I am getting about 10 percent more right than I did when I did the questions last time. I have thus far got 80.5 percent correct. Last time I was 75.5 percent correct.
My goal is 750.
My strategy is to really really work on the SC. And then also really work on the challenges, again ( I did 15 last time).
Finally, I want to do the GMATPrep 4-6 times, also doing the essays. i did this once last time.
I believe I can get 49 on math. On verbal, it will be real important for me to train for endurance. There is no RC or CR question I feel is too tough. On SC, it is a matter of practice, I feel stronger in this area than last time. That said, my verbal goal is 42-44.
