Hi Gmatclub,
It's been a year since I last studied/took the GMAT and it seems like I've forgotten everything...
I have about 1-2 months to study (aiming for round 2 applications). I am not sure what's the best way to refresh myself and increase my scores (particularly verbal SC and RC), I've been debating between self studying or taking private tutors or online courses.
I scored a 690 last time, got 50 for Quant but did very poorly in Verbal.
My budget is around US$1,500. For those who've tried both the magoosh and economist gmat tutor, which one do you recommend more (I am aiming to get 730+)? Or if there are any other programs or books you would recommend, I am all ears.
Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi frostorm,
First off, a 690/Q50 is a fantastic score (it's just a bit below the 90th percentile overall), so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. 1) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
2) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
If you insist on retesting, the logical first start would be to take a NEW, FULL-LENGTH CAT (under realistic conditions) so that we can get a sense of your current skills, strengths and weaknesses. Once you have that score, you should post back here and we can discuss how best to proceed.
