Rice MBA is 1-yr or 2-yr program? I checked its website but there it is not clearly mentioned.

Applying to UT and Rice now and in Texas and the southwest for that matter, Texas wins hands down. While both place well in Houston in finance; Texas places well in the nation in marketing, accounting and finance.
Someone looking to work in chicago or nyc will have to do a bit of work from Rice while UT may have a relationship with a firm there already. Nothing is wrong with either but helps to do some homework on where they tend to place folks.

There is no prescribed GMAT score to "secure" admission to Rice or TAMU. However, a score above 700 will ensure that you are not dinged based on your GMAT score.
