How many minutes does it take Rina to bike from her apartment to her office?
(1) When Rina bikes from her apartment to her office and then takes the shuttle back to her apartment, the total distance she travels is 7 kilometers, and her average (arithmetic mean) speed for that entire trip is 30 kilometers per hour.
The total time for that trip is (total distance)/(average speed) = 7/30 hours = 14 minutes. This tells us (bike time one way) + (shuttle time one way) = 14 minutes, but it does not give either time by itself. Not sufficient.
(2) When Rina takes the shuttle from her apartment to her office and then takes the shuttle back to her apartment, the total distance she travels is 8 kilometers, and her average (arithmetic mean) speed for that entire trip is 40 kilometers per hour.
The total time for the shuttle round trip is 8/40 hours = 1/5 hour = 12 minutes, so the one way shuttle time is 6 minutes. We still do not know the bike time. Not sufficient.
(1)+(2) From (1), (bike time one way) + (shuttle time one way) = 14 minutes. From (2), shuttle time one way = 6 minutes. So bike time one way = 14 - 6 = 8 minutes. Sufficient.

So from the question we know there are two ways
Bike to office and return
Shuttle to office and return
Here I am gonna assume it takes same time to go from home to office as office to home..
1. It says Rina bikes to office and returns via shuttle.
So Db + Ds = 7km (Db distance covered by bike, Ds distance covered in shuttle)
Avg Speed is given as 30kmph so
Time taken to travel 7km = 60/30 * 7 =14 min
No other information is given so we can’t find the time to bike alone hence Insufficient
2. This gives Ds+ Ds =8km ( distance from home to office and back)
Avg Speed = 40 kmph
So time taken = 60/40 * 8 =12 min
However no info about bike journey is given so it’s insufficient
Together
1: Ds+Db=7km
Time taken is 14 min
2: 2Ds = 8km
Time taken is 12min to cover 2Ds distance
So time taken to cover Ds = 12/2=6 min
Using that in 1
We know total time taken is 14 min in covering Ds + Db distance
Subtracting the time taken to cover Ds distance = 14-6=8 min
So it takes 8 min to cover Db distance
