I took the GMAT today. The results are bittersweet: 730 (48Q/41V)

While I acheived my initial target, the final score is a bit of a bummer considering the scores I was hitting on recent practice tests.

Anyone think I should try a retake?

Congragulations on your score! I don't know about the retake part of it but , by itself, your score is awesome.

Well.... If your profile is good and you can get strong recommendations, a score of 730 is good enough.

In my case, I just have two years of work ex :P and the average work ex for the top B-schools is around 4 years. So in order to cover up for the lack of work ex, I have to get a commanding GMAT score. That's the only reason why I am planning to retake the GMAT (I got a score of 710 - Q:48 and V:40)

If you have no such problems, you don't have to take the test again :)

Thanks for sharing ab, sorry to hear that you were hoping for a slightly better score, but 730 is still awesome.

Congratz on the 6.0, AWA is the one part of the GMAT that I've not done any preparation for yet.... I think it's about that time.
