Robert's Ice Cream Shop sells ice cream at x cents a scoop. For an additional y cents, a customer can add 3 toppings to his or her sundae. How much would a sundae with 3 scoops and 3 toppings cost, in terms of x and y?

A. xy
B. x + y
C. 3x + y
D. x + 3y
E. 3x + 3y

A Scoop sells at x cents.

To add three toppings we need to spend y cents.

3 scoops and 3 toppings = 3*x + y

= (3x + y)
