It seems my school selection never ends. I'm applying through the consortium and I can't seem to finalize the last 2 spots. Can you help me pick 2 of the schools listed.
Let me give you my background.
Currently work in tax (but undergrad in comm.). Have 4/5 years WE looking to transition to marketing strategy preferably in the entertainment industry but open to lux. goods and some CPG.
I am looking to work either internationally (EU) or on the east coast and maybe for the right job, LA. Here are my pros & cons as I see them. Please chime in from personal/anecdotal opinions and point out stuff i might have missed.
RossPros
Their program appeals to me. They place a lot of emphasis on hands on experience which is vital for a career switcher like me
They have tons of intl opportunity
Everyone I have met seems laid back
Cons
SNOW
it's not near either coast although they seem to have good placement rates for both. I'm not sure how it will affect internship opps and FT position for a career switcher
big football school - I have zero interest in it. Seems like that's something folks generally bond on
Brand name is not that great outside US
CornellPros
Proximity to NYC
Ability to take classes from entire school (ability to really focus on my interests)
Brand name recognition instantly bc of undergrad (should mention that i might eventually, end up living outside US long-term)
Cons
Snow (see a pattern)
Small size (alumni network???)
uncPros
Really amazing people
My friend went there and I know first-hand how great their career services is in giving info to students
close enough to NYC
from talking to students, they really really want to diversify student body which would help me
Cons
Brand name is not that great
Due to lack of diversity, not so sure about fit
No marketing track focus
What have i not thought of? Which would you guys pick and Why???
