Sales of US goods to non-industrialized countries rose to $167 billion in 1992, which is 14% more than previous year and largely offsets weak demand from EU.
A. which is 14% more than previous year
B. which is 14% higher than it was in previous year
C. 14% higher than the previous yearтАЩs figure
D. an amount that is 14% more than the previous year was
E. an amount that is 14% higher than the previous yearтАЩs figure

have fun

Thank you.
It is completly no typo.
Even though I don't like amount but here, E is ok.
We need subject for "offsets.."
Noted that, rose and offests are for different subjects. Otherwise, C is nice (with commas)

the key is E.
I wonder why "the amount" is appropriate in this sentence.
Moreover, by the end of E, we see "previous year's FIGURE"
Any idea :o
