I scored 690 twice.

The first time I received Q51 V33 and cancelled the score.

The second time I received Q48 V37 and kept the score.

Is it better to keep the higher Quant score, or to keep the more balanced score?

Hi bchewy,

Welcome to GMATCLUB! It totally depends on the schools you decide to apply to. While a lot of schools will really appreciate a high Quant score, some schools such as Insead and other European business schools like a more balanced score. I recommend that you talk to the adcoms of some of the business schools you plan to apply to gain their perspective and then take a call.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Congrats on your score. I personally think you should keep the high quant score. All the best.

Hi bchewy,

I will definitely submit the one with Q51. That's your MBA/MS application selling point!

Hi bchewy,

All things being equal, the Q51 would likely be better for your applications than the Q48 would be. That having been said, if you know which Schools/Programs you plan to apply to, then you could discuss this issue (and your overall profile and plans) with an Admissions Expert. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:
