E.

"has" is not required as it breaks parallelism. Hence, B and D are out.
"do it" is wrong in A.
"such an end" in C distorts the meaning.

Hi mates,

IMO E

B and D out: because of //ism, past simple is needed

A out: what's the reference of it?
C out: such an end is weak

OA and Source?

Cheers

A. devoted his subsequent career to do it
B. has devoted his subsequent career to do that
C. devoted his subsequent career to such an end
D. has devoted his subsequent career for that
E. devoted his subsequent career to that end

I choose E

it seems to me two errors in A
1. "devote x to noun" or "devote x to doing sth", "to" is prep. here and it has to be followed by "noun" or "doing"
2. "do it", "it" has no clear referent here, GMAT prefer "do so", you can refer to OG11 (purple cover) No. 80 and 65 in SC
