The way to do this first is understanding the two info in two tabs
Tab A
So I have two toggles and 4 positions for each Toggle. A unique combination of each will give me a pitch. By PnC we already know thats 4*4= 16 pitches
So everytime we see 15th pitch we know toggle A is down and toggle b is Up.
Tab B : Song
There are three lines - 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I play them one after the other.
Each line has 5 measures 1 to 5. I play them one after the other.
Each measure has 3 pitches separated by commas.
So I play Measure 1 in line 1 then Measure 2 in line 1..until measure 5 in line 3.
Super clear.
Now, just have to ensure we make no mistakes while selecting answer choices and we are also quick.
A. In every line, all of measure 5 is played with Toggle B in position U.
Quickly scan last column of every line as last column is measure 5
Line 1 15,15,11
Line 2 3,15,3
Line 3 15,3,15
Now you can see lot of pitches are common in each line so lets check the unique ones - 15,11,3
Now go in tab 1 and see for each of this pitch in first column is the position U in column toggle B
Answer is Yes!
B. In line 2, at least one whole measure is played with Toggle A in position L.
Just focus on row line 2.
Go through each measure one by one.
Measure 1
measure 2
Measure 3
Measure 4
Measure 5
There will be 3 pitches in each measure. We need one whole measure where for all the 3 pitches in the measure the position of Toggle A is L. When you go in tab A none fit the condition - hence a No.
C. In every line, the second pitch of measure 1 is played with Toggle A in position U.
Go to column - measure 1 for every line. Highlight 2nd pitch for measure 1.
Line - 1 : 11
Line - 2 : 11
Line - 3 : 12
Go in tab 1 and see position for toggle A for each of pitch. Yes all are upper. Hence Yes!
Hope this helps!
