Please advise me regarding scholarship negotiation:

I am sending a mail to one of the ad com members, citing a higher scholarship award from a very similarly ranked school.

Should I attach the admit letter from other B-School in the mail that I am sending, as the admit letter states the scholarship amount?

Kindly advise!

Yes, you should definitely attach the admission letter. It may increase your chances

I wouldn't attached the letter unless they asked for it for verification purposes. That come off too aggressive and unnecessary. If they want to verify, they can always ask and you will have the opportunity to share the letter with them.

Keep it simple and respectful. I was in similar situation and I just let the adcom know that "I am very much interested in school X and looking forward to enroll, and finance is one of the main considerations especially the other competing school is giving me more financial support. I hope adcom can consider to support me making this decision more easily". I am sure someone else here can word it better as I am at work and typing super fast. In short, do not share the letter right away as it seems to suggest that you are threatening to leave the school if they dont match the offer.

I can see it both ways. It really depends on the person on the other side and your email... most schools will ask for a proof of scholarship at the end, so sending it upfront may not be that bad of the tone, just depends on how you presented it.

One potential benefit of not sending it up front is that your preferred school might end up offering more $ than the other competing school. Happened to me LOL. I was super grateful for it. But yeah either way works, although I lean towards not sharing it up front so that I wouldnt run the risk of sounding like “give me money or I will abandon you”
