Hello! I'm currently applying to Schulich for the Master of Marketing program MMKG and I'm worried about the interview and timed written response. If you're currently in the program or have graduated, please let me know what questions you were asked and also how did you prepare for them? Is there anything specific they want to hear in your answers?

They asked, “Why the MMKG program?” and “What companies do you want to work for?” I prepped by reviewing my essays and practicing concise answers about my passion for marketing and career goals. The timed essay was about a workplace challenge I faced—keep it clear, 350-word max. They want authenticity and alignment with the program’s analytics and digital focus. Mock interviews with friends helped me stay calm. Check Schulich’s website for curriculum details to tie your answers to their courses. You’ll do great—just be yourself and show enthusiasm!

The MMKG interview is straightforward but tests your fit. My questions were, “How will this program advance your career?” and “Describe a time you worked with a difficult colleague.” I prepped by studying the program’s focus on analytics and consumer behavior, linking it to my goals in brand management. For the timed essay, I got a prompt about leadership in a project—practice writing 350 words under 5 minutes. They look for clarity and genuine interest in marketing. Use the Centre for Career Design’s resources for mock interviews. Be honest, tie answers to their curriculum, and you’re golden.
