I gave My 2nd Gmat attempt from my previous 480(q38,v19),in my second attempt I received a score of 590 (q44,v27).
In verbal section I rushed through 12 questions because I had 12 mins left.
I face a lot of problem in CR questions.
Please guide I have been studying past 10 months.

Have suggested Manhattan-Prep's 6th Edition for CR to students. For time management, consider using time markers. Getting the ESR to get more insight into the V27 may be helpful as well. Perhaps you did better on CR than you thought but worse on SC, for example.

Hi Dipanjan.

In Quant, you can keep driving your score higher by mastering one concept, strategy, and question type at a time. To master each Quant topic, you can do the following:

- First, review the concepts and strategies a topic involves.

- Then, do practice questions involving that topic UNTIMED until you're achieving high accuracy.

- Finally, work on reducing the time per question until you're correctly answering questions involving that topic at test pace.

Then, move on to the next topic and do the same thing.

By proceeding in that way, you can increase your Quant score as much as you want.

Hi Dipanjan005,

To start, this 590 is a nice improvement over your prior 480. Many GMATers face pacing issues in the Quant section, the Verbal section or both – so you are not alone. However, it's important to remember that pacing problems do NOT exist on their own - they're the results of OTHER problems. The reasons behind your pacing issue in the Verbal section could potentially be impacting your performance in the Quant section, meaning that you will need to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH sections before you will be able to consistently score 700+. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) On what dates did you take your 2 Official GMATs?
2) Over the last 10 months, how many hours did you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

If you took your 2nd Official GMAT at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

Hi Dipanjan,

If you're planning to apply later on this year, then you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better). There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

I've sent you an email with some additional questions.
