500 (v27/q31) AWA 3.5
I took my first gmat on OCT 2010 right after I graduated college and received the above score. I ended getting a full time job and put my mba goals to the side. I ended up working the next 4 years and rose to middle management position(supervisor)
6 weeks ago I went to an info session (tier 2 mba program) and was advise that there was a late submission to get into this year's fall program (if all requirements were met). I quickly turned in my app (due July 15), signed up for the gmat again (due aug 15), and began studying.
Today, I just finished taking the test and scored below:
700 (v39/q47) IR 2 AWA tba
To be honest I didn't think I would score this high. Before the score came in, I thought I'd be lucky to even scored a 630. It feels like a fluke. I also never imagined I'd hit 700 since all my previous practice exams were averaging 650
Questions: even with the 700, I pretty much bombed the IR with a 2. I doubt I will be able to hit 700 again. Should I take the test again to boost the IR(most likely dropping my total score)? How much does IR matter? Should I decline the acceptance for this fall and reapply to tier 1 schools for next year instead? What are my chances? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
