I am an Engineer and have a reading habit since childhood. So GMAT wasn't difficult for me. Of course, lots of practice helped.
I referred the blog: How I Got a 770 in GMAT
I had practised every question from official and Kaplan guides, including quant and verbal guides. I had also solved around 6 mock papers. I was weak in Reading Comprehension and so I referred to the Manhattan book on the topic. In the end I solved Kaplan 800. I had also referred to Princeton Review Quant guide. Just before the exam, I had solved the official mock test and scored 720. Gave the actual exam after two days and scored 760.
