What is the order of your exam?
cjcalero24
I think on quant it’s a mixture of knowledge gap and timing issues. The DI decrease on attempts 2 and 3 was due to time as I had to guess on my last couple questions. I tried to remedy that on today’s exam by bailing earlier on questions but that didn’t help. I’ll have better insight after I get the official results.

Between exams 1 and 4 I’ve spent around 4 months studying. Exam 1 was end of October, exam 2 was early December right. I didn’t study at all in December or January and then picked up studying again towards the middle/end of February as that’s when waitlist and rejection results were coming out. I’ve been seriously studying since then, I’d say I’m averaging around 25 hours a week. I’d do more but I’m also working full time so it’s mostly done on wfh days and the weekend.

I want to go through the official guide because I think the lack of official guide DS questions I've gone through is the main reason behind my decrease in DI but I'm not sure what else to do for quant. My target score is a 655 and my dream score is a 685+. I plan to retake the test before round 1 apps are due for the class of 2027, I am currently on the waitlist at my top two schools but without a higher score I am unsure if I'll get off.

I have barely spent any of my prep time focused on verbal so I believe I can likely get my Verbal score a little higher with time but I am primarily focusing on Quant as that is the major impediment to my goal score. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi cjcalero24,

I agree that you should focus on quant. Have you considered working with a quant tutor (I'm not a quant tutor)?

Got it.
Is it an option for you to spend a month and study early in the morning before work potentially so you are a bit more consistent week over week?

Any particular reason for a struggle with Quant?

Verbal, Quant, Data Insights. I found this order worked best on my practice exams but open to changing it if it'll help.

Yes, I've been studying early in the morning typically 5:30-7 is my main study time and then I try and get additional studying in whenever I have time over the day.

Not entirely sure why I'm struggling with quant. I seem to grasp the concepts when I review them and I do well on the practice questions if I focus on a specific topic however when I get the actual test I sometimes just read a question and don't understand what its asking me. I've also had times where I've gone halfway through a question or solved it entirely only to realize I made a simple math mistake somewhere and I don't have enough time to go through my work and find it.

I really don't understand what's going on with my quant, I'm planning to take a week off of studying (I'll start back up next Wednesday) to reset and then I'm thinking of going back to the beginning but any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

One thing that may help a bit is quickly leveraging your error-log to identify which types of questions (e.g. work rate) or repeated careless errors you may make. If you focus on type of question at a time, consider mixing in some questions (during your practice sets) of previous topics you've gone through to keep those concepts/skills sharp.

Hi cjcalero24,

I'm happy to help. To start, can you send me a screenshot of your TTP analytics page? Once I see your TTP stats, we can take things from there.
