Jaidee
Hi Everyone,
Any advice on how to prepare for the HEC MBA alum interviews? Any pointers would be really helpful? (questions, interviewer style, etc.)
For the presentation, should I choose a topic that I'm good at yet is also the interviewer's suuuuper strong area of expertise?😂 They seems to be pro in my industry but I don't know what else (career related) to talk about..unless
Thanks!!!
Jaidee - over my 4+ years as an Alum interviewer, I've seen candidates successfully present on a wide range of topics covering both personal (e.g. someone spoke about their experiences traveling to 30+ countries, with exciting pictures) and professional (e.g. someone presented on the future of the e-gaming industry, with a good mix of data/ research and visuals).
Pick any topic you are comfortable with, so you display your passion and can handle questions well.
During the rest of the interview, the alums try to understand you and your motivations better i.e. can they visualize you as a classmate/ future-alum. My advise would be to know your story inside-out, research about HEC (i.e. how/ why the school would help achieve your goals) and importantly, be yourself.
I wrote an article with some guidelines, tips and mistakes to avoid in interviews-
